What can your financial institution, tech company, or marketplace platform do to help prevent the online exploitation of children?

Listen in on this thought-provoking conversation between ecommerce expert Erin Brusseau and Guillermo Galarza Abizaid, VP of Partnership and Law Enforcement Training at the International Center for Missing & Exploited Children as they dive into the pressing issue of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Brusseau emphasizes that addressing this difficult topic is imperative for tech companies, law enforcement, and financial institutions. This is because we have a unique opportunity to collaborate to combat CSAM, with a focus on proactive detection, policy reform, and global awareness.

“The number of child exploitation cases are tremendously increasing,” said Abizaid. “There are 36 million reports of online child exploitation, and that is globally.” He explained that about 98 percent of these reports are in countries that lack the legislation and infrastructure to deal with this type of activity and where many of the offenders belong to large criminal networks, highlighting the urgent need for global capacity building.
